GIA Project - The AA Group: Where it all Begins
Good leadership originates plans, policies, and ideas for the improvement of our Fellowship and its services. (. . .) Good leadership will also remember that a fine plan or idea can come from anybody, anywhere. - Reprinted from the A.A. Service Manual combined with Twelve Concepts, 2021-2023 Edition (page c29) , with permission of A.A. World Services, Inc.
Our current project (Fall 2024) is focusing on The A.A. Group: Where It All Begins pamphlet and is being used as the information model to create the reference material that is specific to online groups. To meet that goal, we plan to do several information presentations serving online groups and are looking for skilled individuals to help create them.
A.A. groups are where it all begins and happens. You can be a part of helping online groups conduct 12-Step work and connect with A.A. as a whole. Right now, we need volunteers to help develop a short multimedia presentation that informs on how an online group works most effectively, how a new group can be started, and how each group can be linked to A.A. as a whole.
This is a great service opportunity for A.A. members who are looking for a way to give back to this life-saving program. Please know all A.A. members are welcome to participate in contributing to sharing information about the online group and how to propose a revision to or create a new piece of A.A. literature.
The project team is meeting for one hour on Tuesdays at 10:30 am PT, 11:30 am MT, 12:30 pm CT and 1:30 pm ET.
We hope you will join us! If you are interested or have questions, please contact Jane G. at getintoactioncommittee@gmail.com.
